Watch: Tebow hits 1st HR with Mets during spring training

New York Mets farmhand Tim Tebow went deep Tuesday for his first home run in four big-league camps.

The round-tripper was Tebow's first career extra-base hit in a major-league uniform.

"I had a chance to see a few (pitches), and just tried to be tight and on time," he said, according to Mets Farm Report. "It feels really good. I feel like I'm seeing the ball pretty good."

Tebow joined the Mets' system in September 2016 after signing a contract as a minor-league free agent. He reached Triple-A for the first time in his professional baseball career last year following a 2018 All-Star season in the Eastern League. However, the outfielder struggled in Syracuse, authoring a .496 OPS with just four homers in 77 contests.

The 32-year-old former quarterback is best known from his time in the NFL and NCAA, which included winning the Heisman Trophy in 2007.
