Next stop, Cooperstown.

With his team's 11-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park on Wednesday, San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy became just the 11th skipper in baseball history to record 2,000 career wins.

The other 10 managers who surpassed the 2,000-win mark are all enshrined in the Hall of Fame.

Manager Years Wins
Connie Mack 1894-1950 3731
John McGraw 1899-1932 2763
Tony La Russa 1979-2011 2728
Bobby Cox 1978-2010 2504
Joe Torre 1977-2010 2326
Sparky Anderson 1970-1995 2194
Bucky Harris 1924-1956 2158
Joe McCarthy 1926-1950 2125
Walter Alston 1954-1976 2040
Leo Durocher 1939-1973 2008
Bruce Bochy 1995-2019 2000

Bochy's career record now sits at 2,000-2,022 for a winning percentage of .497. He's the third member of the 2,000-win club whose career record sits below .500, joining Harris (.493) and Mack (.486).

Additionally, Bochy is one of only eight skippers to have managed at least 4,000 games.

The retiring manager was toasted by his players in the clubhouse after the game, and Bochy thanked them with his own emotional speech.

2000 Wins!!!

Bochy - the only MLB skipper to have been born in France - began his managerial career in 1995 with the San Diego Padres. His first win came on April 27 of that year.

During his 12-year run in San Diego, he recorded 951 of his 2,000 wins while guiding the Padres to three National League West crowns and the 1998 NL pennant. The Padres have not made the playoffs since he left them.

He made the move to the Giants in 2007, with whom he's enjoyed a run of success not experienced by the organization since it called the Polo Grounds home. Bochy piloted the Giants to three World Series championships in a five-year stretch from 2010 to 2014, ending the Giants' 55-year title drought in the process.

San Francisco has posted winning records in seven of Bochy's 13 seasons, and 36 of his 44 postseason wins came with the Giants.

Bochy remains the Padres' franchise leader in wins (951) and games managed (1,926). Among Giants skippers, he trails only John McGraw in both categories (1,049 wins, 2,096 games), but holds virtually every one of the team's San Francisco-era managerial records.

At least one more milestone is still within reach for Bochy. If the Giants can go 9-1 over their last 10 contests, he'll pass Durocher - another legendary Giants skipper - for 10th on the all-time wins list.
