Brian Moran's big-league debut with the Miami Marlins on Thursday was a special one as he pitched to a familiar face against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The 30-year-old Moran squared off against his younger brother Colin in the fourth inning, striking him out on six pitches at PNC Park in front of their parents Bill and Diane. The strikeout was Brian's first in the majors.

The matchup also marked the first time a brother faced his sibling in a pitcher-vs-batter scenario (or vice versa) during his major-league debut since 1900, according to Elias Sports Bureau.
''It's incredible,'' Brian said, according to The Associated Press. ''I think the last three days have been some of the most exciting moving days that I've experienced. I don't think you could dream up a cooler situation. I'm so excited I got to share it with my family. I got to get out on a big-league mound.''
Brian played in the minor leagues for a decade before making his MLB debut. Colin, 26, has appeared in the majors during the past four seasons and is usually in Pittsburgh's lineup as the Pirates' starting third baseman.
