The Cleveland Indians have traded right-hander Trevor Bauer to the Cincinnati Reds as part of a three-team deal that also includes the San Diego Padres, the teams announced Wednesday.

Outfielder Yasiel Puig is heading from the Reds to the Indians. Cleveland is also getting left-handed pitching prospect Scott Moss.

Meanwhile, San Diego is sending outfielder Franmil Reyes, left-hander Logan Allen, and 19-year-old prospect Victor Nova to the Indians.

Reds prospect Taylor Trammell is going to the Padres. The 21-year-old is the No. 1 prospect in Cincinnati's system.

Bauer has recorded 185 strikeouts in 156 2/3 innings while posting a 3.79 ERA for Cleveland this season. The 28-year-old was reportedly fined for throwing a baseball over the center-field wall from the mound in frustration during his final start with the Indians.

Puig, 28, entered Tuesday's action slashing .255/.305/.480 with 22 home runs and 60 RBIs in 99 games for the Reds. He was ejected from Cincinnati's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates for his role in a benches-clearing brawl minutes after news of the trade broke.

"I'm going to miss all of my teammates here," Puig said after the game, according to Mark Sheldon of MLB.com. "This part of the year has been amazing for me, being on this team with my teammates and the city ... I'm leaving a lot of love. Now it's time to move forward and go to my new team and help my team get to the playoffs."

Reyes is in the midst of a breakout season for San Diego. The 23-year-old has an .847 OPS with 27 homers. Allen, 22, has a 6.75 ERA in 25 1/3 innings (four starts) for the Padres.
