Dozier feels 'healthy like an ox' after health scare

The Los Angeles Dodgers faced two health scares in less than a week when closer Kenley Jansen and second baseman Brian Dozier both experienced heart irregularities.

Dozier left Monday's game against the San Francisco Giants due to dizziness. The 31-year-old underwent an EKG test, which detected heart abnormalities.

However, while Jansen may be destined for a second heart surgery, Dozier's issue is less serious, as it was caused by an allergy medication.

"Coming from Colorado, I had a lot of sinus issues and sickness feeling and stuff so I took a Zyrtec before the game (Monday), which I don't take any kind of stimulant, any ups, coffee, I don't take any of that stuff," Dozier said, according to MLB.com's Doug Padilla. "And apparently that has a little bit in it, which eventually caught up to me in the sixth or seventh inning."

Dozier has long had an irregular heartbeat, which, in conjunction with Jansen's condition, heightened the Dodgers' concern for their newly acquired infielder.

"I've always had an irregular heartbeat like a lot of people do," Dozier said. "And I think that kind of popped up and the protocol with all the dizziness with that, just get more tests done."

After playing in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Giants, he joked that he felt "healthy like an ox."

Since arriving in L.A., Dozier has hit .256/.396/.535 with three home runs and 11 RBIs.
