Adam Jones is paying it forward.

When a Little League team from Washington needed a quick influx of cash to cover their travel expense to the Mid-Atlantic Regional tournament, the Baltimore Orioles' outfielder came in with a clutch donation of $8,500, according to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.

It all started with a tweet:

Of the 12 players on the Mamie Johnson Little League team, 11 are black, and some are facing difficult financial situations, according to league president Keith Barnes. The league charges just $20 per player as an initiation fee.

"I want to see the next generation get an opportunity to succeed," Adams told WUSA-TV reporter Delia Goncalves, per Crasnick. "Me being a black man trying to integrate more African-Americans into baseball, this was a no-brainer.''
