Albert Pujols added another notch to his belt Sunday when he took over sixth place on Major League Baseball's all-time RBI list.
With a first-inning single against the Minnesota Twins, the Los Angeles Angels slugger recorded his 1,952nd career RBI, passing St. Louis Cardinals legend Stan Musial.
After tying Musial on Saturday, Pujols - a former Cardinals player - said he planned to give the ball, his bat, and his jersey to Musial's family.
"Albert has the utmost respect for what Stan Musial was about," manager Mike Scioscia told MLB.com's Maria Guardado. "Not only on the field, but he was a man of great character off the field. I know those two had a chance to spend a lot of time together when he was in St. Louis. He respects his legacy tremendously, so for him to be in the same sentence as Stan Musial, I know it's a nice feeling for Albert."
The 38-year-old Pujols sits 43 RBIs behind Lou Gehrig for fifth spot.
