Dodgers' Hill to miss at least 4 weeks with blister
The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed left-handed starting pitcher Rich Hill on the 10-day disabled list with a blister on the middle finger of his throwing hand.
The 38-year-old will miss at least the next four weeks, manager Dave Roberts told Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times.
Hill made it through all of two pitches in his start Saturday night before he was removed from the game against the Washington Nationals.
It's been a recurring issue for Hill, as he's already spent time on the disabled list with blister issues twice this season and was removed from his previous start for the same reason.
"It’s frustrating as anything for me to go out there and put the bullpen and team in this position," Hill said after Saturday's nightcap, according to Ben Nuckols of The Associated Press. "Unfortunately, I don’t have answers at this time for the blister issue."
Switch-pitching reliever Pat Venditte has been recalled to replace Hill on the major-league roster.
