If the Miami Marlins are going to trade J.T. Realmuto, he probably isn't going to hear about it from Derek Jeter.

The disgruntled Marlins catcher - who's asked for a trade - finally spoke about his future in Miami at the team's Fan Fest on Saturday, and revealed to reporters that he's yet to speak with Jeter, the team's CEO, about a possible trade, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

Realmuto added that he's had some conversations on the subject with manager Don Mattingly and president of baseball operations Michael Hill, though neither man gave him any clarity on whether a trade is coming.

But while his future remains up in the air, the 26-year-old insisted he won't be a distraction and will "come to play" for the Marlins until a trade happens, according to the Herald's Clark Spencer.

Realmuto's agent confirmed his client's desire to be traded last week, after the team defeated him in arbitration. The Washington Nationals have reportedly stayed in touch with the Marlins about the 26-year-old, though their talks have apparently not made much progress in recent weeks.

Realmuto will earn $2.9 million this season.
