Watch: Sprinklers briefly halt Indians' pursuit of record streak

David Richard / USA TODAY Sports

This might be the only way to cool down the Cleveland Indians right now.

Progressive Field's sprinklers were unexpectedly deployed during the fifth inning of Wednesday's Indians-Detroit Tigers contest, causing an already weird baseball game to be delayed.

The Tigers were in the field at the time, and they seemed nonplussed by the sudden shower. Left fielder Alex Presley, in particular, was completely unfazed.

Amazingly, it's the second time this season that sprinklers have interrupted an Indians' home game.

Cleveland, searching for what would be its' American League-record 21st consecutive win, was leading 4-1 at the time of the delay. The Tigers trimmed that deficit to 4-3 in the next half-inning.
