Watch: Giants' Hwang homers for 1st MLB hit, prompting a slick bat drop

After signing a minor-league deal with the San Francisco Giants this winter and spending the first three months of the season in Triple-A, Hwang finally reached the show on Wednesday - and he didn't waste any time establishing himself. The 29-year-old, who hit 115 homers over 10 seasons in Korea, made sure his first big-league game would be one to remember, as he took Colorado Rockies starter Kyle Freeland deep to left in the sixth inning for the first hit and home run of his major-league career. The blast gave San Francisco a 4-3 lead.

Hwang admired his handiwork from the box momentarily before smoothly dropping his bat. It was a very nice move, to be sure - but still disappointing to bat-flip connoisseurs, who were surely expecting Korea's bat-flip king to bust out one of his truly epic mic drop-style celebrations.
