Tim Anderson didn't waste much time thanking his mother after the shortstop officially signed a six-year extension, guaranteeing him $25 million on Mar. 21.

The 23-year-old gifted his mom with a brand new Mercedes-Benz.

Anderson, who is expected to start the regular season as the starting shortstop for the White Sox, spoke highly of his relationship with his mother after signing the extension.

"For me to be able to tell my mom this, to see the smile on her face, was just priceless," Anderson told Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times. "It still seems unreal. It hasn’t really sunk in yet. I was up all night last night talking to my mom and my brother and my dad. It’s just a great feeling for me to be able to tell my family that."
