Watch: Giant parrot welcomes Encarnacion to Cleveland
Edwin Encarnacion's parrot has officially landed in Cleveland.
During Encarnacion's first appearance in front of Cleveland baseball fans on Saturday at the Indians' FanFest, the notoriously fun-loving team decided to officially welcome its new star to town by bringing his trademark parrot to the festivities. Indians mascot Slider led the larger-than-life Psittacopasserae through some crowded halls and over to a surprised Encarnacion, who was signing autographs for fans but was delighted to see his good friend once again.
Encarnacion hit 42 home runs for the Toronto Blue Jays in 2016, so fans in "The Land" should expect to be seeing the parrot - a signature of the slugger's that became incredibly popular during his eight years north of the border - plenty of times in the coming years.
