Clay Buchholz will remain a member of the Boston Red Sox for at least another season.

The Red Sox announced Thursday they've picked up the $13.5-million club option on the right-hander.

Buchholz, 32, had a rough start to the 2016 campaign, posting a 6.51 ERA in April, and eventually losing his spot in the starting rotation.

He eventually recovered and moved back into a starting role, finishing the season with a 4.78 ERA along with eight wins across 37 appearances, 21 of which were starts.

The Red Sox also announced they've declined a $3.75-million option on catcher Ryan Hanigan, instead opting to buy him out for $875,000.
