After the Toronto Blue Jays season ended Wednesday at the hands of the Cleveland Indians, pending free-agent slugger Edwin Encarnacion could have played his last game with the club.
The popular Dominican was mobbed by a crowd as he left Rogers Centre after the game. While signing autographs, he was begged by screaming fans to stay in Toronto, and to forget about signing with the Boston Red Sox.

Encarnacion - who the retiring David Ortiz called the perfect fit to take over as Boston's designated hitter - said it was too early to comment on next season, although he was somber about the situation.
"To be honest, really sad, because I don't know what's going to happen next," he told Sportsnet's Ben Nicholson-Smith when asked how he felt during his final at-bat of Wednesday's game.
The 33-year-old Encarnacion finished tied with Ortiz for the AL lead in RBIs this season (127), while belting 42 home runs and recording a .529 slugging percentage.
