Alex Rodriguez's incredible, and controversial, career with the New York Yankees, which is set to end Friday, took a surprising turn Tuesday at Fenway Park, and it was all thanks to fans of the Boston Red Sox.
"A-Rod," a notorious baseball villain in Beantown for a number of reasons, actually received an incredible amount of love and support from Red Sox nation when they began to chant "We Want A-Rod" in the ninth inning of a Red Sox-Yankees game.
Rodriguez wasn't in the starting lineup, nor did he enter the game, despite the best efforts of the fans.
The 41-year-old slugger likely won't start Wednesday either, but should do so Thursday in the series finale.
