Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez had a run-in with home plate umpire Mike Everitt on Thursday as his club squared off against the St. Louis Cardinals, but it wasn't a typical battle of words or disagreement behind home plate.
Perez actually lunged into the chest of the umpire as he attempted to track down a Mike Leake bunt attempt that the pitcher popped into foul territory.
After Everitt played the part of offensive lineman and received a friendly hug from Perez, the two shared a laugh.
