Another day at the office Friday produced another saves record for New York Mets closer Jeurys Familia.
After James Loney made a spectacular defensive play at first base to record the final out of the Mets' 6-4 victory over the Atlanta Braves, Familia cemented himself in the franchise's record books yet again.
The 26-year-old right-hander set a franchise record for consecutive saves to start a season at 25, passing Armando Benitez's mark set in 2001.
Familia has converted a franchise-record 41 consecutive regular-season saves, dating back to last season, and has only blown 10 saves in his career.
