Boston Red Sox fans can work a bargain.
As David Ortiz slugged career home run No. 521 in an 8-4 loss to the Seattle Mariners on Friday, tying Ted Williams on the all-time home run list, a NESN reporter went up into the bleachers to talk to the fan who caught it.
In a friendly way, he said he's very willing to give up the ball, but for a price.
"We're in negotiations right now," he said jokingly. "A bat, or a baseball, or a shirt, or a jersey, maybe even a little meet and greet."
As the reporter was about to cut back to the studio, an usher climbed up into the stands and handed the fan a gift - an autographed bat from Ortiz.
"Awesome, I'm thrilled," he said, "and congratulations to David Ortiz."
