Bad baserunning blunder costs Marlins' Realmuto a 2-run HR

J.T. Realmuto hit the longest single of his life Monday against the Milwaukee Brewers.

It should have been a two-run home run.

The Miami Marlins catcher went deep to center field off of Brewers starter Wily Peralta in the second inning, blasting the ball off the giant home-run sculpture at Marlins Park. However, he foolishly ran past his teammate Marcell Ozuna, who was still tagging up at first.

It's not the first case of a runner passing another player on the basepaths this season, nor is it the first time it's happened this year in a game involving the Brewers. St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Randal Grichuk overran teammate Brandon Moss on April 14 against Milwaukee, but no one caught the base-running flub.

For scorekeeping purposes, Realmuto was credited with a single and an RBI, but officially picks up an out on the play.
