The Cincinnati Reds and All-Star right-hander Chase Burns agreed to a seven-year, $105-million contract extension, sources told Jon Morosi of MLB Network.
Burns' deal runs from 2027 through 2033 and includes no options or deferrals, reports Morosi.
The extension's guaranteed money also reportedly ties Homer Bailey for the largest amount ever given to a Reds pitcher and sets a record for any MLB hurler with less than four years of MLB service time.
Burns, 23, is 11-1 with a 2.54 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and 10.3 K/9 across 102 2/3 innings (18 starts) this season.
Cincinnati selected Burns second overall in the 2024 draft.
