Bryce Harper's second career grand slam Tuesday against the Miami Marlins is his seventh homer of the season, and fifth blast in his last six games.
"I was trying to go deep to tell you the truth," Harper said postgame. "It happened. I got a good pitch to drive and did my job."
The reigning National League MVP launched his first grand slam last Thursday, which was also the 100th homer of his young career.
Harper had zero grand slams in his first 517 major-league games, and now has two in his last six.
The 23-year-old now has more homers (seven) than strikeouts (six) after the at-bat.
Jayson Werth, Wilson Ramos, and Ryan Zimmerman also homered as part of a seven-run seventh inning for the Nationals.
