Chelsea's Christian Pulisic left the United States national team setup to seek further treatment for a hamstring injury, USMNT coach Gregg Berhalter announced Wednesday.

"He has been working through an injury, but it really says a lot that he wanted to come into camp, be around the guys, and continue to be a leader with this team," Berhalter said.

Pulisic, 23, missed Chelsea's last three matches after aggravating the hamstring injury in pre-match warm-ups ahead of an Oct. 31 meeting with Burnley.

The 34-time capped attacker also suffered a hamstring injury in the FA Cup final defeat against Arsenal in August and had to wait until Oct. 17 to make his first league start for Chelsea this season.

The USMNT faces Wales in a friendly Thursday in Swansea before traveling to Austria to play Panama on Nov. 16.
