It only took 32 years and 11 matches, but Turkey has finally scored against England.
On November 14, 1984, the Turkish national team took on England for the very first time, a FIFA World Cup match that ended 8-0 in favour of the Three Lions. Fast forward more than three decades and nine matches later, Turkey still had yet to find the back of the net, and England had a 31-0 scoring advantage.
But in Sunday's latest friendly fixture, that all changed. Hakan Calhanoglu finally broke his team's bad luck, scoring in the 13th minute with a right-footed shot from the middle of the box into the bottom-left corner, marking the first goal Turkey has ever scored against England.
