Toulouse's goal-starved push for Ligue 1 safety has been offered an attacking boost, with Firmin Ndombe Mubele joining Les Pitchouns on loan from Rennes for the remainder of the season.
The southern struggler announced the move with a statement on its website Tuesday, adding that the 23-year-old Democratic Republic of Congo international's loan includes a club option to buy.
A striker who has been shifted to both flanks on occasion this season, Mubele registered five goals and a helper in 13 Ligue 1 starts for Les Rouges et Noirs this season following a summer move from Qatari outfit Al-Ahli.
Mubele's role under manager Sabri Lamouchi was likely to diminish in lieu of Diafra Sakho's move from West Ham to the Roazhon Park, prompting the switch south to join a 19th-placed Toulouse side that has scored just 21 goals in 23 top-flight matches this season.
