Inter rather quietly pulled off one of the moves of the summer Thursday, signing Yann Karamoh from Caen on a two-year loan.
SMC confirmed the signing, adding that the deal includes a buy-option clause for Inter. The initial fee is reportedly in the neighbourhood of €7.5 million, according to talkSPORT.
A dazzling talent, the 19-year-old winger broke through with Caen's first team last season and was immediately labeled the latest young Ligue 1 star to watch in the mold of Ousmane Dembele and Kylian Mbappe.
Employed either on the right side or as part of a two-man strike force, Karamoh is a gangly runner whom Caen boss Patrice Garande entrusted to make a meteoric jump a year ago. The Ivorian-born France youth international did not disappoint, featuring in 35 of the club's 38 Ligue 1 matches.
Karamoh's 76.8-percent pass completion is staggering, even for a veteran, and his nose for goal is of note for a player 11 months short of his 20th birthday.
What remains to be seen is if Karamoh will get enough minutes at Inter with Mauro Icardi and Eder already at the club up top, or on the right wing in competition with Antonio Candreva, though Gabigol's reported move to Benfica would help the young attacker's cause.
