Sainz will look to join Leclerc as only the second Ferrari driver to win the Scuderia's hometown grand prix since 2010.
"Tomorrow, I'm going to give it everything to hold onto that P1," Sainz said. "A good start, a good first stint, and see if we can battle Max. I'm going to give it my all."
Despite coming up short in qualifying, Leclerc was happy to see his teammate come out on top.
"Seeing Carlos is P1 is great for Ferrari, and he has done a great job all weekend," Leclerc said.
With a victory Sunday, Ferrari would become the first team other than Red Bull to win a race this season.
