Sunderland is reportedly keen on bringing back full-back DeAndre Yedlin for the 2016-17 Premier League campaign after the United States international spent last season on loan with the Black Cats, according to ESPN FC.
Yedlin is currently contracted to Tottenham after making a move from the Seattle Sounders in 2013 and Sunderland is reportedly expressing interest in taking him on permanently, with discussions continuing ahead of the Aug. 31 transfer window deadline.
The 23-year-old defender made 29 appearances last season for Sunderland, recording one assist and helping shore up the team's backline such that the club avoided relegation last season with a 17th-place finish.
