Lionel Messi scored, as he's expected to do, and Erling Haaland added to his already impressive resume. But the start of the 2020-21 Champions League group stage provided some firsts as well. Here's a look at the most interesting stats from Tuesday's openers.

2: Barcelona's Ansu Fati became the first player in Champions League history to score twice before the age of 18.

6: Manchester United's Aaron Wan-Bissaka won six tackles against Paris Saint-Germain, more than any other player on Tuesday. He managed the feat while going toe-to-toe with Kylian Mbappe for most of the game.

9: United have scored nine own goals in the Champions League, more than any other club in the competition's history. Anthony Martial had the unfortunate privilege of turning the ball into his own net on this occasion, though United still beat PSG, 2-1.

9: Borussia Dortmund's Haaland has now scored 11 goals in just nine Champions League appearances. More than half off those goals were scored against Liverpool, Napoli, PSG, and Lazio.

10: With Tuesday's victory over PSG, United secured a 10th consecutive away win in all competitions for the first time in club history.

16: Messi is the first player to score in 16 straight Champions League seasons. Former midfielder Ryan Giggs is the only other player to score in as many campaigns overall.

25: United's Bruno Fernandes has converted 25 of his last 26 penalties, dating back to the start of the 2017-18 season when he was with Sporting CP.

28: Lazio's Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro scored on his Champions League debut at the age of 28. The midfielder was playing in Serie B with Salernitana just a few months ago and was without a club in 2017.
