Watch: Aubameyang punishes Hoffenheim for hitting post 18 seconds earlier
TSG 1899 Hoffenheim was reminded the hard way Friday that football is a game of inches.
In the 48th minute of the Bundesliga fixture between Hoffenheim and Borussia Dortmund at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena, a wild sequence of events ultimately resulted in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang tallying his 16th goal of the season and levelling the match at 2-2 - a score that held until the final whistle.
After Sandro Wagner smashed a shot against the post from only six yards out, Dortmund wasted no time collecting possession and moving the ball the length of the pitch, stringing together a beautiful sequence of passes. No more than 18 seconds later, at the other end of the stadium, Aubameyang chipped Oliver Baumann following a defence-splitting pass by Ousmane Dembele.
16 - Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the first player in BL history with 16 or more goals after 15 matchdays in two seasons in a row. Machine.

The goal came after Marco Reus left Dortmund with only 10 players just before the interval, the result of a controversial second yellow card that led to his first dismissal through 209 Bundesliga appearances.
