Anthony Joshua signs long-term deal as DAZN brand ambassador
DAZN announced a long-term deal with Anthony Joshua that expands the two-time heavyweight champion's role with the streaming service.
Joshua is now a DAZN brand ambassador, special adviser, and shareholder. As part of the deal, Joshua's future fights will be broadcast worldwide on DAZN.
Financial details or the exact length of the pact were not announced.
The British boxer's fights were previously broadcast in the U.K. by Sky Sports.
"I am entering a new phase in my career with a new training environment, new coaches and now a new broadcaster," Joshua said in the release. "Negotiations at this level take time so I am pleased to have it all wrapped up and now I can fully focus on giving the fans and DAZN what they want, knockouts in the glamour division."
The 32-year-old boasts a 24-2 record with 22 knockouts. Most recently, Joshua was defeated by Oleksandr Usyk via unanimous decision in September 2021. A rematch has been confirmed and is expected to take place in August.
"We have been successfully working in partnership with DAZN for many years now and this new announcement with Anthony Joshua emphasizes why they continue to set the standard for the future of sports broadcasting," promoter Eddie Hearn added.
