Wozniacki mum on retirement rumblings

In last year's US Open women's final, we got a championship speech that doubled as a retirement speech. Could Caroline Wozniacki make it two years in a row?

Wozniacki, 26, has suggested in recent months that she doesn't expect to have a long career, and her father indicated Monday that she may indeed be nearing a decision on her tennis future.

"I do not know if Caroline will only play the rest of the season or if she will play another one," he told Danish publication Ekstrabladet. "We have not taken any final decision. But as I understand her, it will not be a long career."

Wozniacki, who trounced Anastasija Sevastova on Tuesday night to reach her fifth career US Open semifinal, wouldn't speak to her retirement plans in her post-match presser.

"I think I don't want to really talk about that now," she said. "When I feel ready to open up and say something then I will, but for now I'm just here to play this tournament. ...

"Hopefully I have two more matches here. Yeah, it's really all I'm focused on right now."

Wozniacki will face world No. 2 Angelique Kerber in the semifinals.
