Canada stays perfect in women's hockey with easy 4-1 win over Finland
GANGNEUNG, SOUTH KOREA - FEBRUARY 13: Meghan Agosta #2 of Canada scores a goal in the first period against Finland during the Women's Ice Hockey Preliminary Round - Group A game on day four of the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games at Kwandong Hockey Centre on February 13, 2018 in Gangneung, South Korea.

Canada's shutout streak ended midway through the third period, but that was the only hiccup as the four-time defending women's hockey gold medalist dispatched yet another opponent with a 4-1 win over Finland early Tuesday morning.

Meghan Agosta and Melodie Daoust led the way with a goal and an assist each.

The win put Canada atop Group A and virtually guaranteed advancement to the semifinals.

Agosta opened the scoring just 35 seconds into the game, before Sochi 2014 hero and team captain Marie-Philip Poulin roofed her first goal of the tournament on a beauty deke:

Canada went up 3-0 in the second frame on a point shot from Daoust. Jillian Saulnier then became the first Nova Scotian to score a goal in Olympic women's hockey when her breakaway tally extended the lead to 4-0.

Canada's dominance let up a little in the third period, as Finland claimed a goal when 44-year-old Riikka Valila became the oldest woman to ever score at the Olympics.

Finland then nearly added another on a breakaway, but Canadian netminder Shannon Szabados stood tall to keep the lead at three.

Canada will close out the group stage with a game against its bitter rival, the United States, on Thursday.
