Van Vooren signed with the Cowboys on Monday, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Analysis:Van Vooren was waived by New England on Aug. 18. Dallas is dealing with injuries to backup tight ends Brevyn Spann-Ford (undisclosed), Michael Trigg (toe) and DJ Rogers (knee), and the team only played with two healthy tight ends in its last preseason game Saturday against the Cardinals, per Harris. Van Vooren, who has yet to make an NFL regular-season appearance, should have a chance to make his mark in Dallas' last preseason contest.
