Kelsey Plum won't hold any ill will toward the Los Angeles Sparks if the franchise elects to trade her by Sunday's 3 p.m. ET trade deadline.
"The thing about professional sports is, it's business," the five-time All-Star said Thursday, according to ESPN's Alexa Philippou and Kendra Andrews.
"At the end of the day, people have to do what's best for them, and I respect that. And I'm not taking anything personal. For me, I'm gonna be where my feet are."
Los Angeles has reportedly discussed deals involving Plum, but the Sparks' high asking price has dissuaded interested teams, according to Philippou and Andrews.
Plum has missed the last 11 games for L.A. with a lower left leg injury. In her absence, the Sparks have won just twice and are currently looking to snap a six-game skid. With 17 regular-season contests remaining, the club has fallen a handful of games back of a playoff spot.
Plum hasn't played since June 29, though the 31-year-old has posted career highs with 23.9 points and 6.4 assists per game in 12 starts. However, the former first overall pick is set to become an unrestricted free agent at season's end, potentially complicating matters for a Sparks team that entered 2026 with high hopes after reuniting with former MVP Nneka Ogwumike this past offseason.
"There's a lot of things that are in the unknown, and those are things outside of my control," Plum said. "For me, my control is to be here, to play the highest level of basketball I could possibly play, and help my team win games."
