Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark will miss Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Sparks due to a back injury, head coach Stephanie White announced Friday, according to Tony East of Forbes Sports.
White added that there is "no indication" how long Clark will be sidelined.
After Saturday's game, the Fever don't play until July 5.
"It's a good time because we have all week next week, so we'll take this opportunity to get her treatment," White said. "Get her healthy, get her back on the floor, and see what happens."
Clark left Wednesday night's loss to the Phoenix Mercury in the third quarter due to a back injury that has been nagging her for most of the season. Saturday will mark the second game this season that Clark will miss due to a back issue.
White previously called the officiating in Wednesday's game "egregious," and Alyssa Thomas was assessed a flagrant-2 foul Thursday and automatically suspended a game for apparently pushing down on Clark's neck. No foul was called on the play at the time.
The two-time All-Star is averaging 21.2 points and shooting 43% from the field this season. Indiana is third in the Eastern Conference at 10-8.
