Wings trade Carrington to Lynx for Miller, Samuelson, pick

The Minnesota Lynx are loading up for the playoffs.

The Lynx acquired guard DiJonai Carrington in a trade with the Dallas Wings in exchange for Diamond Miller, Karlie Samuelson, and a 2027 second-round draft pick, the Wings announced.

The Wings also waived center Teaira McCowan to complete the deal.

Carrington, 27, joins the juggernaut Lynx after she was sent to the Wings in February as part of a four-team trade. Carrington was averaging 10.4 points and a career-high 5.1 rebounds in 20 games with the Wings.

The Baylor product spent the first four seasons of her WNBA career with the Connecticut Sun, earning the Most Improved Player award and a All-Defensive first team nod in 2024.

Miller, the No. 2 overall selection in the 2023 draft, was with the Lynx for two-plus seasons, averaging 7.1 points per game. Samuelson joined Minnesota in an April and recorded 3.3 points in 14.3 minutes per game for the Lynx.

Samuelson hasn't played since June 29 because following surgery on her left foot.

The Lynx lead the league with a 24-5 record on the heels of Saturday's 53-point victory over the Las Vegas Aces.
