Wings re-sign Sabally to 1-year deal
Satou Sabally is re-signing with the Dallas Wings, she told ESPN's Alexa Philippou.
Her new contract is a one-year deal that's fully protected and worth $195,000, a source told Philippou.
Sabally, who was a restricted free agent, opted to take less money to return to Dallas. She reportedly drew interest from six other teams.
"Just engaging in those basketball conversations really made us realize that we want to work together and we want to bring a championship to Dallas," Sabally said. "It could really be termed as unfinished business."
Sabally is regarded as one of the WNBA's rising stars. The 25-year-old averaged 18.6 points, 8.1 boards, 4.4 assists, and 1.8 steals over 38 appearances last season. She took home Most Improved Player honors and was fifth in MVP voting.
Dallas selected Sabally with the No. 2 pick in 2020. The two-time All-Star has spent her entire career in the Lone Star state.
The Wings were swept by the Las Vegas Aces in the WNBA semifinals last season.
