New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu left Friday's game against the Atlanta Dream with an apparent left ankle sprain, the team announced.
X-rays on Ionescu's ankle later returned negative and showed no fracture, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
The No. 1 pick was carrying the ball upcourt when she appeared to step on the foot of Atlanta's Betnijah Laney. She was assisted off the court shortly afterward and didn't return for the second half.

Ionescu had 10 points in 12 minutes before her departure. The Oregon product was living up to the hype early on, dropping 33 points, seven boards, and seven assists in her second WNBA contest.
New York entered Friday's contest already without All-Star guard Kia Nurse, who sat out due to a left ankle sprain.
