USA cruises past Latvia to punch ticket to WJHC semis

The United States took care of business Tuesday at the World Junior Championship, dismantling Latvia 7-2 to advance to the semifinals.
Forward Gabriel Perreault and defenseman Seamus Casey led the way for the Americans, tallying three points apiece. Oliver Moore, Will Smith, and Cutter Gauthier chipped in with two points each.
Jacob Fowler was stellar in net when he needed to be, stopping 23 of 25 shots.
Dans Locmelis was one of the few bright spots for Latvia, scoring both of his team's goals.
The USA remains unbeaten in the tournament and is averaging a robust 7.2 goals per game.
