Schalke announces signing of Alper Ademoglu from Anderlecht

Alper Ademoglu, an instrumental figure for Belgium's national team at last year's FIFA Under-17 World Cup, is heading to Veltins-Arena.

On Thursday, FC Schalke 04 signed Ademoglu from Anderlecht, as the 17-year-old attacking midfielder put pen to paper on a contract with the German club until 2019 that will see him play for its under-19 side.

"We are very happy that we have managed to sign Alper for Schalke," Horst Heldt, Schalke's sporting director, said. "He is a great young talent from Belgium and was coveted on the European market. This move is also an investment in the future by us."

Ademoglu was part of Anderlecht's reserves and made seven appearances for the Belgian club in the UEFA Youth League.
