Former Lyon forward Clinton Njie is familiar with Monaco and its players, and hopes to use this experience as his new side Tottenham Hotspur makes the trip to Stade Louis II on Thursday.
The Cameroon international bagged seven goals and seven assists in 15 Ligue 1 starts last season, and moved to the North London club for a suspected £10-million fee in the summer.
Speaking to the Spurs website, the speedster believes any French team poses a threat when they play an English side.
"I think all the teams from the French league, whenever they play teams from England, are motivated and I know we are going to have a difficult game."
Njie showed his attacking capabilities on Saturday, providing an assist for Erik Lamela as Tottenham stormed to an impressive 4-1 victory over Manchester City, but believes Mauricio Pochettino's side will have to be responsible at the back at Les Rouges et Blancs.
"Monaco always defend very well and I think they're going to play forward and attack, so we know it's going to be a difficult one.
"They will be at 100 percent because they are playing against Tottenham, but we are going to be ready physically and mentally."
After the morale-boosting win in the Premier League over the weekend, Njie and his new teammates will travel with confidence.
"Monaco are a good team but I think if we go there determined to win we can be victorious."
He also provided some insight to the atmosphere at Monaco's 18,500-seater stadium.
"It's an open stadium," he said. "It's not always full but in big games like when they're playing against us I think it will be quite crowded. It's going to be a good match for the supporters and I hope we can reward our fans with a win."
