Paris, May 27, 2022 (AFP) - Teams from Belarus and Ukraine will be prevented from being drawn against each other in European competitions "until further notice", UEFA announced on Friday.

The decision has been made to ensure the "safety and security of the teams" due to Belarus' support for the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Russian clubs and its national side have been barred from all European competitions since March 1. Russia have also been banned from the 2022 World Cup by FIFA.

UEFA has forced Belarusian teams to play their home matches on neutral grounds and behind closed doors since March.
