Report: Erik Lamela close to exiting Spurs for Inter Milan, says player's father
Tottenham winger Erik Lamela is close to a return to Italy with Serie A outfit Inter Milan, says the player's father and agent.
"I can confirm that we are in talks with the Nerazzurri," Jose Lamela told La Gazzetta dello Sport, courtesy of ESPNFC. "Their interest in Erik is real. We are waiting for updates over these next few days. There is a willingness on our part to begin talks with the club."
Erik, 23, made a £30-million move to White Hart Lane in 2013 from Roma but failed to break into Mauricio Pochettino's starting line up on a consistent basis. He's scored two Premier League goals in 45 games for Spurs.

His father believes coming back to Serie A would help his son return to form.
"Italian football is likely more suited to him and his characteristics," Jose said. "He settled well in Italy and had two great seasons with Roma. It would be a welcome option for us.
"He would like to return to Serie A. We will see what happens in these final days of the transfer window."
Inter has until Sept. 1 to finalize a move before the close of the summer transfer window.
