Thiago Motta open to Inter Milan return amid concerns over future at PSG
Thiago Motta appears to have a back-up plan following his admission that he can see the writing on the wall at Paris Saint-Germain.
The midfielder expressed concerns over his position within the French champions as their payroll continues to increase and his role diminishes.
With his former team, and Inter Milan, interested in re-acquiring him, Motta revealed that it could be time for a change following three trophy-laden years with PSG.
"I get the impression that a cycle is coming to an end for me," Motta admitted to Gazzetta dello Sport, courtesy of The Guardian. "I have given and received so much. It would be more comfortable to stay, but I wouldn't be honest with myself, nor the club, which I have grown to love. It's not a question of money, but of motivation.
"I have spent three-and-a-half years there, but it seems a lot more to me. I think I have given everything by now.
"Returning to Inter would be a real challenge, as (Roberto) Mancini has shown with his choice to join the club again at a delicate moment. It would be stimulating but also natural to rediscover a place where I won everything."
Motta, 32, won just about every major trophy during his three years with the Serie A outfit, including the treble during his first season when Inter captured the league title, Coppa Italia, and Champions League trophy during the 2009-10 campaign.
