Newcastle's backline is losing some serious depth as Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, the man who put Samir Nasri on the sidelines for nearly six weeks last season, is heading to Roma on loan until June 2015.

The 25-year-old from Central African Republic is joining Roma for a transfer fee of £1 million, and the agreement states that the club have the option to acquire him outright after the 2015-16 season for a value of £5.5 million.
Newcastle supporters will surely be frustrated about losing Yanga-Mbiwa, who many feel was poorly treated by manager Alan Pardew, as their backline is now looking eerily thin three matches into the season.
