Inter Milan completed a double swoop for Edin Dzeko and Denzel Dumfries on Saturday as they prepare for life after Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku joined Chelsea for a reported €115-million fee on Thursday, and the reigning Serie A champions have moved quickly to strengthen their squad with the signings of experienced striker Dzeko from Roma and Euro 2020 star Dumfries from PSV Eindhoven.
The 35-year-old Dzeko signed a two-year contract with the Nerazzurri, while Dutch right-back Dumfries, 25, inked terms until 2025.
Dzeko scored for his new club in a 3-0 friendly win over Dynamo Kyiv on Saturday. He tallied 119 goals in 260 games for Roma.
Former PSV captain Dumfries will fill the void left by Achraf Hakimi's transfer to Paris Saint-Germain in July. PSG reportedly paid an initial €60-million fee plus a further €8 million in add-ons for Hakimi.
Inter kick off their title defense against Genoa next Saturday.
