Fiorentina are reportedly set to make headlines.

Franck Ribery, who left Bayern Munich as a free agent after a decorated 12 years at the club, has reached an agreement to join the Serie A side on a two-year contract, according to the Guardian's Fabrizio Romano.

Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade had previously expressed optimism that a deal could get done - but only at the right price.

"We want him and would like to have him, but we cannot give tens of millions like the Arab or Russian teams," Prade said last Sunday.

Ribery reportedly drew interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia and Qatar before settling on Fiorentina.

The signing is a huge coup for the Tuscan outfit and new owner Rocco Commisso, the Italian-American media magnate who completed a €170-million takeover in June. Almost immediately after his arrival, Commisso promised to keep reported Juventus target Federico Chiesa and invest in the squad.

The 36-year-old Ribery is expected to become La Viola's eighth summer addition, joining the likes of newcomers Kevin-Prince Boateng, Pol Lirola, and Milan Badelj.

He won everything there is to win at Bayern, including nine Bundesliga titles, six league cups, and the Champions League.
