The PWHL has its first trade in league history.
Boston shipped defender Sophie Jaques to Minnesota in exchange for forward Susanna Tapani and defender Abby Cook, the teams announced.
Jaques, the centerpiece of the deal, was selected by Boston in the second round of the PWHL draft. The 23-year-old has failed to record a point in seven games this season, but she won the Patty Kazmaier Award in 2023 as the top female NCAA player while at Ohio State.
Cook, 25, has recorded one goal in nine games this season.
Tapani, a fifth-round pick out of Finland, has tallied two goals and three assists in nine games.
