The PGA Tour is in Las Vegas for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open hosted at TPC Summerlin.

A 144-man field, headlined by Brooks Koepka, will compete for the title on the desert-style course. Patrick Cantlay and Bryson DeChambeau, the last two winners in Sin City, are also in attendance for the fourth event of the fall season.

Expect scores to be low, especially if conditions remain calm. The winning number over the last 10 years has consistently surpassed 20-under. From a betting perspective, target players with excellent tee-to-green skills and the propensity to make a bunch of birdies.

The course

7,255, par 71
Easy when the wind doesn't blow
Bentgrass greens
All three par 5s are 560 yards or longer
Nine of 11 par 4s shorter than 450 yards

Previous winners

2018: Bryson DeChambeau (-21)
2017: Patrick Cantlay (-9)
2016: Rod Pampling (-20)
2015: Smylie Kaufman (-16)
2014: Ben Martin (-14)

The favorites

Player	Odds	Best Shriners finish
Brooks Koepka	8-1	2nd (2016)
Patrick Cantlay	12-1	1st (2017)
Bryson DeChambeau	16-1	1st (2018)
Hideki Matsuyama	22-1	T-10 (2014)
Adam Scott	22-1	N/A
Webb Simpson	22-1	1st (2013)
Tony Finau	22-1	T-7 (2014)
Collin Morikawa	25-1	N/A
Gary Woodland	28-1	T-10 (2018)

The top of the betting board is scary, mainly because of Koepka's presence.

He's nearly impossible to bet from a value perspective at 8-1. However, no one would be shocked if he shows up in Las Vegas, cruises to a five-shot victory, and heads home $1 million richer. Fading the world No. 1 is a risk, but one worth taking if you're looking to cash big.

Next, the two previous champions in Cantlay and DeChambeau. The former knocked off the rust last week at the Safeway Open, during which he gained 4.7 strokes tee-to-green. DeChambeau, on the other hand, was leading with 36 holes to play before a poor third round derailed his week. He finished T-13 but showed signs that his form is in good shape.

Dropping into the 20-1 range, you'll find six players who are all capable of winning but lack the eye-popping value you will sometimes find in similar fields. Here's a case against each.

Matsuyama: Hasn't won since August 2017.
Scott: Was a mess off the tee last week and hasn't found the winner's circle since March 2016.
Simpson: Making his first start of the season.
Finau: Made the long trip from Scotland after playing two weeks in Europe and lacks a winning pedigree.
Morikawa: Will be his first start in Las Vegas and hasn't played great in stronger fields.
Woodland: Struggled after winning the U.S. Open and will be rusty after five weeks off.

If forced to choose from the top, Cantlay at 12-1 makes the most sense. He was the runner-up last year after winning in 2017 and played decent last week in his first start of the new season.

The next tier

The middle tier is flush with enticing options who present value depending on how you feel about the favorites. If you think the likes of Koepka or Cantlay don't win, then these 50-1 options have the potential to pay off handsomely.

A familiar name - if you've been following along this season - leaps off the page in the form of Scottie Scheffler at 50-1. The Korn Ferry Tour standout took last week off after a T-16 at the Sanderson Farms, which was the worst finish in his previous five starts. The Texas native has the tools to contend.

Matthew Wolff (50-1) and Aaron Wise (66-1) also present strong options. They both possess power games off the tee and hit plenty of greens in regulation to give themselves ample birdie opportunities throughout the week. Wolff has never played TPC Summerlin, whereas Wise resides in Vegas and has two top-15 finishes at the event in three years.

Aside from the young guns in the middle range, Chez Reavie (40-1) and Jason Kokrak (50-1) are worth consideration. Had Reavie not lost over four strokes putting last week in Napa, he would have contended and been priced much shorter this week. Kokrak lost over three shots putting in two rounds at the Greenbrier and is likely to rebound at a ball-strikers paradise.

The long shots

While three of the past six Shriners winners were priced over 150-1, it's difficult to imagine a fourth long shot winning in Vegas with the immense talent at the top.

With that being said, here are a few players who should pique your interest due to their history at TPC Summerlin or events that have produced similar winners.

Bronson Burgoon (100-1): Makes a ton of birdies thanks to stellar iron play. He missed the cut in Napa last week after two rounds of poor putting.
Chesson Hadley (110-1): Has recorded three top 10s in Vegas over his career and gained 5.3 strokes tee-to-green last week at the Safeway Open.
Kyle Stanley (125-1): Came T-7 in his last appearance in Vegas and typically plays well at Quail Hollows and Muirfield Village, two tournaments that share previous champions with the Shriners. He gained nearly five strokes with approach shots at the Safeway Open.
Doc Redman (175-1): The 21-year-old has gained strokes tee-to-green in 10 of his last 11 PGA Tour starts. He's a budding star who gets very little attention due to his counterparts quickly earning wins on Tour.

Picks to win

Scottie Scheffler (50-1)

Jared C. Tilton / Getty Images Sport / Getty

If Scheffler is going to win on the PGA Tour during his rookie campaign, it's going to come during the fall season, as his momentum from the Korn Ferry Tour has clearly carried over. He led the field in strokes gained: tee-to-green in his first start as a full-time member at the Greenbrier and didn't lose strokes in any facet at the Sanderson Farms. The 23-year-old launches it off the tee and can get red-hot with his irons.

Aaron Wise (66-1)

Kevin C. Cox / Getty Images Sport / Getty

Wise is a steal at 66-1. He's familiar with the Vegas area and likely plays TPC Summerlin a ton with easy access as a PGA Tour member. In his first start of the new campaign, the former Rookie of the Year gained 4.4 strokes tee-to-green at the Sanderson Farms but lost over two shots putting. He's recorded two top-15 finishes at the Shriners and is primed to contend at a course he can dominate with his length.

Kyle Stanley (125-1)

The odds are simply too juicy to pass up on Stanley. When on, he is long and accurate off the tee and can dial it in with his approach shots. He tends to perform well at the Memorial and Wells Fargo Championship, events that have produced similar winners to the Shriners in the past. Assuming the 31-year-old doesn't lose four strokes putting in two rounds like he did last week, he should provide you with some entertainment on the weekend.

With the Quicken Loans National set to begin Thursday in Potomac, Md., it's reasonable to expect a strong field at the tournament dubbed "Tiger's event" (proceeds go toward Tiger Woods' foundation), but unfortunately, that's not the case. In fact, of the 120 competitors, only four rank among the world's top 30.

Meanwhile, TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm is a very difficult 7,107-yard par-70 course, with tight fairways and penalizing rough. Golfers will need to hit fairways to have any chance at making birdies. It played as the toughest non-major venue on the PGA Tour schedule last year.

Here, we rank the top 10 golfers in the field (betting odds in parentheses):

10. Marc Leishman (18-1)

Leishman's form since his runner-up finish at the Byron Nelson has been worrisome, capped off by an ugly missed cut at last week's Travelers Championship. He ranks as the third betting favorite after tying for fifth last year, but something isn't right with his game. Still, the Aussie cracks this list because he's proven in the past he can turn things around very quickly.

9. Kiradech Aphibarnrat (30-1)

Aphibarnrat has yet to make a major splash on the PGA Tour, but trust that when he does, it's going to be a big one. His two top-15 finishes in his last three PGA Tour events indicate he's becoming more comfortable on North American soil. The Thailand native is a world-class putter and a proven winner worldwide.

8. Gary Woodland (40-1)

After winning the Waste Management Open in February, Woodland fell into a deep slump. However, his last two finishes suggest he's back on track, especially with his solid showing at the difficult U.S. Open. Woodland seems to fair better on shorter courses, which is exactly what's on deck with TPC Potomac.

7. J.B. Holmes (25-1)

Holmes was heavily scrutinized this past week for his incredibly slow play, but you can't argue with his results. He's now finished inside the top five in back-to-back events, gaining over 21 strokes: tee to green over that time. Expect his blistering-hot form to continue this week.

6. Joaquin Niemann (30-1)

The 19-year-old Chilean sensation has already earned special temporary membership on the PGA Tour because of three top-10 results in his first six events as a pro. Sure, his other three tournaments were missed cuts, but the all-or-nothing Niemann clearly possesses elite upside and a breakout win is in the cards.

5. Jimmy Walker (30-1)

Walker is only a month removed from completing a run in which he rattled off three straight top-10 finishes. He's made nine straight cuts, gaining an absurd amount of strokes through approach shots over that time. In a field this weak, Walker is a contender based on pedigree alone.

4. Kyle Stanley (20-1)

The defending champion is entering the 2018 edition of this event with impressive form, as he lost in a playoff a few weeks ago at the Memorial and tied for 15th at last week's Travelers. Stanley ranks 23rd in strokes gained: off the tee and third in driving accuracy. A repeat victory is a strong possibility.

3. Francesco Molinari (18-1)

Molinari makes his living hitting fairways and greens, the perfect recipe for success at TPC Potomac. The fact that he's skipping an important European Tour event at the course hosting the upcoming Ryder Cup suggests Molinari really likes his chances of winning this week - as he should.

2. Tiger Woods (12-1)

If Woods is going to win this year, the Quicken Loans National will be his best shot. It's the weakest field he'll play in, at a course that will allow him to keep his driver in the bag. If Tiger hits fairways to give his iron play a chance to excel, perhaps a new putter will be his key to victory.

1. Rickie Fowler (7-1)

This is Fowler's tournament to lose, as he's head and shoulders above the competition in terms of skill and recent form. A combination of accuracy off the tee and remarkable wedge play gives Fowler a clear advantage when it comes to navigating the tough TPC Potomac track, where he finished tied for third last season.

As with all major championships, most of the attention is naturally directed toward the world's best golfers. However, the U.S. Open has seen champions like Lucas Glover, Geoff Ogilvy, and Michael Campbell within the last 15 years, so a long shot winning at Shinnecock Hills is well within the cards.

Here are four sleepers to keep an eye on for 118th U.S. Open. (Betting odds are in parentheses).

Tony Finau (80-1)

Finau put on a memorable performance at the Masters, quickly recovering from a gruesome ankle injury to finish in the top 10. His result at Augusta, not to mention multiple other top-10 finishes this season, is a testament to his immense talent despite being constantly overlooked in strong fields. Finau ranks second on the Tour in driving distance and 25th in strokes gained on approach shots, a deadly combination capable of conquering Shinnecock Hills.

Kyle Stanley (100-1)

This is Stanley's first trip to the U.S. Open since 2013, which is unfortunate because his game fits this event perfectly. He ranks sixth in driving accuracy while averaging 292 yards off the tee, a great combination for Shinnecock Hills. The 30-year-old lost in a playoff at the Memorial in his last appearance, where he gained 7.5 strokes through approach shots. He's not a great putter, but does perform best on poa-grass greens like this one.

Gary Woodland (175-1)

Woodland fell into a funk after winning the 2018 Waste Management Open, missing five of seven cuts prior to his tied-for-23rd result at the Memorial. His strong showing at Muirfield Village was backed by incredible off-the-tee play and approach shots, but his around-the-green game cost him a top-10 finish. He is one of the longest players on Tour, so the length of Shinnecock Hills shouldn't be an issue.

Brendan Steele (160-1)

The three-time PGA Tour winner possesses the distance required to take on Shinnecock, ranking eighth this season in strokes gained: off-the-tee and 12th in driving distance. He's also skilled with his irons, sitting 11th in greens-in-regulation percentage on Tour. Steele finished inside the top 15 in both of the last two U.S. Opens, proving the stage of the year's second major isn't too big.

It's been years since the PGA Tour had this type of buzz around it as golfers head to Bay Hill for the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and it's all centered around the sparkling play of Tiger Woods.

The 14-time major winner electrified the sports world with a run to a second-place showing at last week's Valspar Championship, and his incredible track record at Bay Hill helps make him the favorite.

While many will be rooting for Woods as he looks to win his 80th overall PGA Tour event, here are some other players to target on the betting board.

Favorite to watch (odds 25-1 or less)

Hideki Matsuyama

The Japanese superstar returns after a wrist injury that forced him to withdraw from the Phoenix Open. While it's always risky to bet on a player in his first event back, getting Matsuyama as high as 25-1 rarely ever happens. The 26-year-old ranks second on Tour in strokes gained on approach, a stat that's crucial around Bay Hill. Don't be shocked to see Matsuyama in the winner's circle.

Odds to win: 25-1
Top 5 odds: 4-1

Second tier (odds 25-1 or greater)

Adam Scott

Much like Matsuyama, Scott's odds are also higher than usual at 40-1. The Australian struggled a bit to start the year, but has recently shown he's turning things around. Scott finished in the top 16 in his last two events, and looks to continue his climb back to his usual place in the world rankings with a strong showing at Bay Hill.

Odds to win: 40-1
Top 5 odds: 7-1

Long shot (odds 50-1 or greater)

Keegan Bradley

Bradley's had success in the past at Bay Hill with two finishes inside the top three, and also heads to the Orlando-area event in fine form. The 31-year-old is seventh on Tour in the young season for strokes gained on approach. Positive experience at the course and quality play are a steal at 66-1, and don't be shocked if Bradley turns in a big payoff for his backers.

Odds to win: 66-1
Top 5 odds: 14-1

Super long shot (odds 80-1 or greater)

Charl Schwartzel

Schwartzel has been solid but unspectacular, making all six of his cuts on Tour but failing to finish inside the top 25 in an event. The South African seems poised for a breakthrough, and Bay Hill should be a strong venue for him. He owns one of the smoothest swings on Tour, and just needs to drain a few putts to get things rolling.

Odds to win: 125-1
Top 5 odds: 16-1

Hit this bet, buy a car (odds 125-1 or greater)

Kyle Stanley

As we've become accustomed to in recent years, Stanley put on a ball-striking clinic on his way to a T-17 finish in last year's Arnold Palmer Invitational. The 30-year-old hasn't played since the WGC-Mexico, but a top-25 finish there indicates he's in strong form. At 150-1, he's definitely worth a small wager.

Odds to win: 150-1
Top 5 odds: 16-1

Last week's results

Rory McIlroy: MC
Paul Casey: Winner
Ollie Schniederjans: T-49
Bryson DeChambeau: WD
Dominic Bozzelli: T-31

Season Record (10 events)

Wins: 4 (Paul Casey 25-1, Bubba Watson 50-1, Dustin Johnson 15-2, Jon Rahm 8-1)
Top five: 7

After a rousing event at PGA National last week in The Honda Classic, the tour heads south for the latest World Golf Championship event in Mexico.

It's the second straight year that the event will be held in Mexico City at Club de Golf Chapultepec, a course placed at very high altitude around the sprawling metropolis.

Dustin Johnson outlasted Tommy Fleetwood to win last year's event, telling us that the event places a premium on ball-striking, something to keep in mind when making this week's picks.

Favorite to watch (odds 25-1 or less)

Jordan Spieth

Spieth shot par or worse in three of his four rounds at this event last year, but showed he can go low with a sizzling round of 63, the lowest of the week. Spieth is currently ranked 22nd on tour in strokes-gained on approach, a number that will certainly help at the tricky layout. The 24-year-old's putting woes look to be solved from earlier in the season and he will remind everyone he's still one of the predominant forces on tour with a win this week.

Odds to win: 11-1
Top-5 odds: 5-2

Second tier (odds 25-1 or greater)

Paul Casey

Casey has gained a reputation as one of the world's most consistent players and that's certainly the case again this season. The 40-year-old has made six starts worldwide and has posted five top-20 finishes without missing a cut. He's making his second start in Mexico City, closing with rounds of 67 and 66 to sit 16th in last year's event. Don't be shocked if he's in contention yet again on the weekend.

Odds to win: 28-1
Top-5 odds: 13-2

Long shot (odds 50-1 or greater)

Gary Woodland

The Phoenix Open champ is in fine form entering this week's event with three top-12 finishes in his last five events. Woodland struggled to a 38th-place showing in Mexico last year, with only one round in the 60s, but his improved form must have him full of confidence this time around. The veteran ranks 17th on tour in strokes-gained on approach, and at 66-1 he's worth a look.

Odds to win: 66-1
Top-5 odds: 10-1

Super long shot (odds 80-1 or greater)

Haotong Li

Li has made the cut in all three PGA Tour events this season, and has a European Tour win already in the books thanks to his victory over Rory McIlroy in the Dubai Desert Classic. The Chinese star is 10th on tour this year in strokes-gained on approach and his supreme ball-striking should help him overcome an unfamiliar course on his first start in Mexico.

Odds to win: 100-1
Top-5 odds: 18-1

Hit this bet, buy a car (odds 125-1 or greater)

Kyle Stanley

With two missed cuts in his last two events, Stanley hasn't been in strong form lately, but he's still worth a look this week in Mexico. Prior to the past two events, Stanley had made all six cuts this season including two top-10 finishes. His ball-striking stats are currently underwhelming, but his history as a top-quality player from tee-to-green should be a factor this week. At 150-1, he's worth a long-shot bet.

Odds to win: 150-1
Top-5 odds: 25-1

Last week's results
